Hi, it's nooboet again.
Hurrah! Heard that the diabolo camp on 18 Nov is quite confirmed. After all that hassle, I'm glad we'll be having a diabolo camp!
Yep, there definitely will be games (mom was asking for ideas :D). Hope everyone has fun even while picking up new skills! (Not to mention bonding between members of the diabolo CCA.)
Looking forward to it, if I survive my exams. Good Luck and Jia You to all those studying for exams now!
Been reminding myself to keep 18 Nov free for the camp. Hope to see most of everyone there!

Fu Zhou Hui Guan performance
Hey!
This is an ex-student of XNPS who is still currently active in the Diabolo CCA (when she has time)
Just to leave a comment about the recent (or maybe not so recent) performance at the Fu Zhou Hui Guan
Starting with the practice in the morning, I am simply glad that we managed to match each actions to the songs (it helped that the song has a strong beat :D). And while we sacrificed lunch time at school for more practice, I was glad that none of us complained about hunger (though a few smelled the chicken rice on the bus and were trying to wheedle one packet from me).
The performance went rather smoothly, and hopefully we brought some entertainment to the students there (who should be rather cramped after sitting for so long.) Those supposed to do the "ga wu" with me did very well, Well Done!
Finally, let's congratulate the winners, the teachers who put in so much hard work to teach them, and give our heartfelt thanks to our Diabolo coaches who had to do admin work and teach us at the same time AND to the bus driver (How else would the diabolo team members reach safely?)
And not to forget ourselves :D We deserve a pat on our back too! (for trying our best.)

马来西亚华仁中学扯铃训练营
马来西亚华仁中学在２００８年６月４至６日主办扯铃训练营，训练营由萧维晟及维权兄弟主持，张金斗开唱。华仁中学原名为华侨中学， 1940年创立，坐落在柔佛州峇株巴辖县伏龙山下，学生人数约2,500位。
看着黄教练带回的照片，回想起三十几年在华中读书的往事，郎郎读书声，老师与同学一起布置课室，点点滴滴，那末模糊，又那末清晰。趁记忆还行，作诗以为纪念：

伏龙山上伏黄龙，龙走山青出华中； 1
莘莘学子读书乐，绿树成荫诗意浓。2

Xingnan Diabolo Team 醒南扯鈴隊嬉哈舞鈴
許多人聽到扯鈴表演，直覺就是一種雜技或民俗運動。今年三月參加 SHOWCASE, Performing Arts Festival 2008
這個活動以青少年為主，讓青少年們發揮，展現他們的才藝。
秀英為這次的表演編排了嬉哈的風格，
然後讓扯鈴隊的隊員們穿著黑褲，配上黑色 T-shirt，
再打上亮紫，粉橘，桃紅，金黃，翠綠，天藍的領帶，
黑色向來令人有酷酷的感覺，
藉此更加襯托出孩子們耀眼可愛，自信活潑的一面。
當我們帶著五彩繽紛的鈴來到表演的會場時，
孩子們歡樂舞動著扯鈴的自信，立刻吸引了人潮駐足觀賞。
輪到扯鈴隊出場時，Chia-Wei 隨著音樂，
舞出快樂扯鈴的感覺，立刻吸引了大家的目光，
雖然整個表演過程仍不免有失誤，
然而他們穩健的台風，依然得到了現場熱烈的掌聲鼓勵。
在每次的表演過程中，
我體會了孩子們最單純的快樂，
我要獻上感恩的心，感謝上帝的祝福與保守！

2007 臺灣扯鈴高手 卓家宏來醒南精彩演出留念

家宏與醒南扯鈴隊的孩子們合影留念認識臺灣扯鈴好手-卓家宏，是個機緣巧合。
因爲在新加坡推廣扯鈴活動的關係，所以每囘返台探親，我都會利用機會觀摩扯鈴比賽。
2005 年，到南投拜訪默默推廣扯鈴與獨輪車活動的洪校長，應他之邀，
參加了南投舉辦的扯鈴慶祝活動，正巧看到卓家宏的演出。
洪校長介紹我認識家宏和他的扯鈴啟蒙指導老師-李進德。
原來他7 嵗就讀草屯的僑光國小時接觸了扯鈴，直到三年級加入扯鈴社，
受到李進德老師的栽培訓練，五年級時成為學校扯鈴校隊的主力選手。
卓家宏目前就讀台北體育學院體育健康學系大四，
他經常代表臺灣或體院出國演出或參加比賽，並且多次獲得國際比賽的各項獎項。
他今年參加了西班牙國家舉辦的第一屆國際馬戲節，擊敗眾多高手，獲得了金獎；
他也曾經參加 2004 年湖北武漢世界雜技節，
2007 年河北吳橋國際雜技藝術節等，獲得銅牌。
家宏手中的棍棒就像是魔術棒，能讓扯鈴跟著他飛舞轉動，
難怪他的表演稱之爲：幻影空竹，連周杰倫也拜他為師學扯鈴，配合歌曲「扯」！
洪校長對我說：家宏現在雖然以扯鈴揚名國際，
可是只要他的故鄉南投邀請他回來支援活動，他總是義不容辭，甚至不支取任何車馬費，
以回報培育他扯鈴夢想的老師們當年的一番心血！
2007 年，他隨著台北體育學院舞蹈系來新加坡參與“ 春到河畔” 的演出，
抵達的第二天，他利用空檔來醒南小學探訪我，讓我看到這孩子熱忱善良的本性，
到了醒南，正巧遇上我們有農曆新年的慶祝活動，
我請他為我們做個表演，他非常大方，毫不猶豫的立刻答應，
他的演出結合了舞蹈，體操的表演方式，加上特製的燈光鈴，博得滿堂彩，
精彩零失誤的演出令全校師生驚嘆不已。
“天下無難事，只怕有心人”
他苦練扯鈴的精神，成了扯鈴隊孩子們最好的學習榜樣！

這是 2006 參加 NIE 教育學院慶祝國慶演出時留下的美好回憶。
當時參加扯鈴隊的同學，有好幾個都已經從醒南畢業了！
回想當年，秀英和我凴著一股莫名其妙，沒來由的熱情與傻勁，
幸運的得到醒南小學 Mr.Kwek 和校長的支持，
成立了扯鈴課外活動的社團，開始在新加坡推廣扯鈴，
醒南小學是目前新加坡唯一一所推廣扯鈴民俗活動的學校。
這三年來，有幸得到馬來西亞馮開東教練的全力支持，擔任我們扯鈴的技術指導總教練。
前兩年也接待了來自臺灣瑞城國小和談文國小的師生們來新加坡醒南小學，
他們為這邊的孩子帶來精彩的演出，作了一場有意義的文化交流活動。
孩童的學習潛力是無限的，
我真心的希望能夠讓更多新加坡的孩子們，有機會學習嘗試不同的活動！
天下無難事，只怕有心人，凡事只要用心有心，一定能夠做的好！

新加坡 Schoolbag 來採訪醒南小學 Parent Support Group-PSG （ 家長會 ）
將醒南家長會的功能，在學校所參與的活動,
以及家長會如何發揮溝通協調的角色,
幫助移民到新加坡的孩子及家長們適應此地的學習環境,
Schoolbag 做了一小時的訪談，文章出爐了，内容轉貼如下：
Parent Support - from across the World
Whenever students enter Xingnan Primary School,they walk past the eye-catching International Friendship Panel,
a wall that features, among other items, a world map and 14 national flags.
This is no geography or general knowledge display;
each flag represents a country where the school’s international students hail from.
Malaysia, China, Myanmar, India, Australia, Taiwan and Korea - they’re all here.
The panel symbolises the friendship the school extends not only to its students,
but also to their parents.
The school’s Parent Support Group (PSG) has made it a point to actively
reach out to the parents of international students,
who now comprise almost half its membership.
Explaining the move to reach out to the international parents,
Principal Mr Gau Poh Teck says,
“In recent years, we’ve had more international students joining the school.
We were thinking about how to help them adjust well in school.
We thought if we involve the parents,
let them have a good understanding of Singapore’s education system and how they can contribute to their children’s learning,
then we should be able to better integrate the international students.

International parents do their part
Some international parents feel so at home in the PSG that they continue to contribute
to the group even though their children have long graduated from the school.
Take for example Mrs Teo Hsiu Ying and Mrs Mandy Chen, both from Taiwan.
They have three children each and are active members of the PSG.
Mrs Teo is a former committee member while Mrs Chen is currently the PSG vice-chairman.
In 2003, Mrs Teo and Mrs Chen founded a new CCA, the Diabolo Club.
Students learn to juggle the diabolo,
whirling and tossing a spool on a string tied to two sticks, one held in each hand.
Today, the Diabolo Club has 80 members of all races.
Despite their children having graduated from the school (except for Mrs Chen's youngest child),
Mrs Teo and Mrs Chen continue to train students in the art of juggling the diabolo.
The students are so good that they have been invited to perform at public events,
and Xingnan Primary School is the only school in Singapore that offers such a CCA.
Reflecting on the PSG’s efforts to integrate international students and their parents,
Mrs Teo sums it up succinctly with her heartfelt words,
“I think there’s something very special about Xingnan Primary School.
The school is able to successfully integrate students from all different races and countries.
This is really amazing.”
She adds warmly, “For parents and students who have just come to Singapore,
they may have no friends. We become their friends
and are willing to help them whenever they need it.
After so many years in the school, I really feel that we are like one big family.”

醒南小學的扯鈴隊 05/07/08 參與了今年在 Suntec City 舉辦的 MOE Excel Fest. 今年的活動主題是 Nurturing every child for the future.
也許因爲其他參與演出學校呈現的表演節目多半是舞蹈或樂器演奏. 相比之下，扯鈴的演出就顯得獨樹一幟，很吸引觀衆的注目。
秀英這次花了很多的心血編排動作，
扯鈴隊的孩子們也越來越有大將之風，表現的確令人刮目相看！
因此演出結束后，主辦單位立刻前來邀請扯鈴隊留下再多表演一場。
對孩子及負責的老師而言，這是莫大的肯定與鼓勵，
雖然仍有些美中不足的地方，但大家都渡過了開心，緊張的一天！
表演前夕，我一一的打電話邀請這次參與演出的孩子們的父母來看表演，
他們從來沒有看過自己的孩子在舞臺上的演出，甚至不知道扯鈴究竟是什麽活動？
昨天有許多的家長親臨現場，看到自己孩子們的優越表現，父母們紛紛前來向我們致謝。
能夠得到大家的肯定與支持，給了我們很大的推動力，所有的汗水都成了甜美的回憶。
活動圓滿順利結束之後，
Dr. Teo 和秀英帶著珈嘉，珈瑋，Vincent , Angel 去慶功。
我則幫忙老師帶學生囘學校，
領著孩子們穿過人潮擁擠的 Suntec City，
雨后的空氣顯得清涼，風吹在身上，剛好令我的心情得到完全的釋放。
孩子們的表現雖然不免有失誤，可是看到他們臉上的自信，我的内心深受感動。
有幾個在學校特別調皮的孩子，在扯鈴隊都很順服我們的要求。
看著他們一次比一次的成熟懂事，這是莫大的安慰！
世上多的是不可愛的人，及使人煩心的事，
有幾個在學校不受歡迎的同學，他們的成長背景可能是缺少了父母或家人的愛，
或是沒有在正常家庭的環境裡成長，這樣的學生值得我們同情，付出關懷。
也許孩子們的某些行爲需要更多的磨練，
我希望自己能以更大的包容心，伸出關懷友誼的手，
既是他們的老師也做他們的朋友。
